A supportive and inclusive SEN school in Leicester is looking for motivated and compassionate graduates to join their team as SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to gain valuable experience supporting children and young people with additional learning and behavioural needs.
The school supports pupils with a range of needs including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Moderate Learning Difficulties
- Anxiety and emotional regulation needs
The Role
Successful candidates will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support students both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Supporting pupils during classroom activities and lessons
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Helping students remain engaged and focused
- Supporting communication and social interaction skills
- Assisting with routines, transitions, and classroom structure
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
This role requires patience, empathy, resilience, and a genuine interest in supporting young people within an SEN setting.
