Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing. Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist residents with personal care needs during shifts, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing throughout the night, recognising any changes or concerns promptly
- Lead and support junior care staff, providing guidance and supervision to maintain high standards of care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and observations using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Ensure the safety and security of the premises during night hours by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed care plans when required
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home setting specialising in senior or elderly care is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of developing and implementing personalised care plans
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Driving licence is advantageous for supporting community outings or appointments
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
