Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and responsible Class 2 HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate Class 2 HGVs, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Skills
- Valid Class 2 HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with similar lorries
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best driving practices in the UK
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to secure loads safely using appropriate straps and restraints
- Good organisational skills to plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatch teams, and colleagues
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
