Job Overview
We are looking for a part-time person to join our friendly team working in a charity run community café.
Role will include cooking and serving our great value breakfasts and lunches, customer service and working with and helping support our great team of volunteers
Duties
- Working as part of our friendly and supportive team
- Preparation and cooking of all menu items
- Completion of all daily checks and recording documentation
- Following food hygiene guidelines and ensure safe food handling and preparation at all times
- Customer service
- Money handling and use of point of sale system
- Support and mentoring of volunteers, some of whom may have additional needs
- Stock checking
- Cleaning of café area at end of shift
Requirements
- Previous café experience would be desirable but not essential
- Being able to prepare and cook menu items including breakfasts and light lunches
- Friendly approach
- Ability to work with a wide range of people who use our cafe
- Some flexibility around hours to cover colleagues leave etc.
- Ability to follow health and safety and food hygiene guidelines
- Undertaking Food Safety Level 2 Qualification and additional training as required
- Ability to undertake responsibility for running of café independently when required

Pay: £12.71 per hour
