First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) have a fantastic opportunity for a ITC infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team
This is a hands-on, technically diverse role where you’ll take ownership of our infrastructure environment and lead on delivering improvements and projects.
The impact you’ll make
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our network, systems, telephony and end-user environment remain stable, secure and resilient, while driving continuous improvement and innovation across our ICT estate.
You’ll also act as a senior escalation point for complex issues and take the lead on implementing new technologies and upgrades across the organisation

You will:

Lead the implementation, upgrade and optimisation of server and infrastructure platforms
-
Manage and remediate security vulnerabilities and ensure robust patching processes
-
Act as the escalation point for complex technical incidents and problems
-
Identify and deliver automation opportunities to improve efficiency
-
Monitor and maintain system performance, availability and security compliance
-
Deliver infrastructure projects and system upgrades into business-as-usual
-
Support, mentor and develop colleagues within the Service Desk and wider ICT team

Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
-
Provide occasional out-of-hours support for maintenance and project delivery

Our ideal candidate
You'll be an excellent problem solver with strong analytical skills and a customer focused approach. You'll work collaboratively and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to prioritise competing demands across projects and day to day operational support.

Strong experience managing enterprise ICT infrastructure environments
-
Proven expertise across Microsoft technologies including:
-
Azure / Entra ID
-
Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
-
Windows Server (2016–2022), Active Directory and Group Policy
-
Experience with VMware vSphere and virtualisation technologies
-
Knowledge of endpoint security, device management and cloud technologies
-
Experience delivering 2nd/3rd line support and resolving complex infrastructure issues

Strong understanding of networking, backup solutions and system resilience
-
Ability to lead technical projects and transition solutions into BAU
Qualifications
-
Microsoft certifications (or willingness to work towards) in areas such as Azure, Security or Infrastructure
-
ITIL certification (desirable)
