We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our LD Care Home team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caring for individuals with learning disabilities, demonstrating leadership and supervisory skills. This role involves supporting residents to achieve their personal goals within a safe, nurturing environment, ensuring high standards of care and well-being. The Senior Support Worker will play a vital part in supervising staff, developing care plans, and fostering positive relationships with residents and their families.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise support staff to deliver high-quality care in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences
- Provide direct support to residents, encouraging independence and participation in daily activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Assist with organising activities that promote social inclusion, personal development, and community engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care plans, incident reports, and progress notes
- Support staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of care services through feedback and best practice sharing
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in adult learning disabilities or senior care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a support worker or care setting is essential
- Proven ability to develop and manage care plans effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with residents, families, and team members
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Driving licence is desirable to facilitate community outings or appointments but not mandatory
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations relevant to adult social care
Qulaifications
- Level 3 in health and social care or higher
- All mandatory training will be provided

Pay: £13.71-£14.71 per hour
