Are you an experienced Buyer looking for your next challenge?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Sheffield that is looking to strengthen its Procurement team with a proactive and commercially minded Buyer.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring materials are available to keep production running efficiently, whilst building strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
The Role
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Quality and Finance teams, you'll be responsible for managing supplier performance, maintaining stock availability, and ensuring customer demand is met through effective purchasing and planning.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Manage a portfolio of suppliers and develop strong working relationships
✔ Negotiate pricing, contracts and annual supplier agreements
✔ Monitor inventory levels to maintain production continuity
✔ Raise and manage purchase orders using ERP and MRP systems
✔ Resolve supplier delivery issues and implement corrective actions
✔ Monitor supplier performance through KPIs including OTIF and RFT
✔ Conduct supplier reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
✔ Maintain accurate purchasing data and supplier records
✔ Work collaboratively across multiple departments to support business objectives
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating value and finding solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience using ERP and MRP systems
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Good Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- A proactive and commercially focused approach
Desirable
Experience within Aerospace or Aviation Manufacturing
