We are looking for a part-time Nursery Cook to provide summer holiday cover within our nursery setting. This role is ideal for someone with experience in an education environment who can confidently work as a self-starter, managing the kitchen independently.
The successful candidate will have a warm, approachable personality, be flexible in their approach, and have a clear understanding of the nutritional needs of young children. Strong organisation and communication skills are essential, along with maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene, cleanliness and professional appearance.
Applicants must hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) and have previous experience working in a school, nursery or similar setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise, prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals for children aged 3 months to 5 years, in line with nursery menus
- Take daily account of individual dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural needs, and prepare suitable alternatives
- Work independently to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen during holiday cover periods
The role also includes responsibility for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen, ensuring that all health and safety and food hygiene standards are consistently met and maintained.

Typical working schedule:
Monday-Friday (8am-12pm)
20 hours/ week
