Trainee Surveyor – Bell Fire East Anglia

At Bell, we are looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Surveyor to join our growing Fire East Anglia Branch. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a supportive and fast-paced environment, learning directly from experienced Surveyors and industry professionals.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial and financial management of contracts while developing the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to become a fully competent Surveyor.
About the Role
As a Trainee Surveyor, you will assist with the financial and technical management of projects, helping to minimise costs and maximise value across contracts. You will gain exposure to all aspects of surveying including estimating, contract administration, cost control, valuations and client relationships.
You’ll also work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and internal teams, learning how projects are successfully delivered from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with measuring and preparing cost estimates for tenders and contracts
- Supporting the monitoring of project costs, variations and financial performance
- Raising subcontractor orders, applications and invoices
- Assisting with monthly CVRs and commercial reporting
- Building strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients
- Learning how to manage applications for payment and cash collection processes
- Supporting branch meetings focused on project cost, value and progress
- Using systems including Evision and Dynamics Central to manage commercial information
- Ensuring company procedures and Health & Safety standards are followed at all times
What We’re Looking For
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade A-C / 9-4)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Full clean driving licence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within quantity surveying, construction, finance, credit control or similar transferable roles
- A Levels or equivalent qualifications
- Willingness to attend university on a day-release programme

Pay: £18,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
