Animal Keeper & Customer Service Assistant
Full-Time | 5 Days per Week
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
8:45am – 5:00pm
About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team in a varied and rewarding role that combines animal care, retail and customer service.
This is a hands-on position working across our Farm Park and Pet Store, helping to provide excellent standards of animal welfare while delivering outstanding customer experiences. No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in ensuring both our animals and visitors receive the very best care and attention.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care
- Daily care and welfare of farm animals including sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas and donkeys.
- Feeding, cleaning, health monitoring and maintaining high welfare standards.
- Assisting with the care of small animals, poultry, reptiles and aviary birds within the pet store.
- Maintaining clean, safe and well-presented animal enclosures and visitor areas.
- Supporting educational and interactive animal experiences for visitors.
Animal care will make up approximately 40% of the role.
Customer Service & Retail
- Providing a warm, welcoming and knowledgeable experience for customers.
- Operating the till and processing customer purchases.
- Advising customers on pet care products and animal welfare requirements.
- Assisting customers in selecting appropriate products for their pets.
- Receiving, unpacking and merchandising stock deliveries.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised retail environment.
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of both the pet store and farm park.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience caring for animals.
- Confidence interacting with customers of all ages.
- A genuine interest in animal welfare and pet care.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
- Comfortable regularly lifting and moving products weighing up to 20kg.
Desirable
- Experience working with farm animals, particularly sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas or donkeys.
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience.
- Level 2 Animal Care qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working in a farm park, pet store, zoo, equestrian or agricultural environment.

Pay: £24,420.00-£25,000.00 per year
