Job Summary
The Healthcare Assistant / Radiographer Department Assistant will support the Radiology team during insourcing midweek sessions to ensure clinics run efficiently and patients receive high-quality care. The post holder will assist radiographers and clinical staff with patient preparation, departmental flow, and general support duties within the imaging department.
This role is essential in helping maximise departmental capacity and maintain a smooth patient pathway during additional imaging sessions.
Responsibilities
- Assist radiographers and clinical staff in preparing patients for imaging procedures.
- Welcome, check in, and escort patients to and from imaging rooms.
- Support patient positioning where appropriate under supervision.
- Prepare imaging rooms between patients, ensuring rooms are clean and stocked.
- Assist with moving and handling patients safely in line with trust policies.
- Provide reassurance and basic support to patients before and after imaging procedures.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times.
- Support administrative and departmental tasks when required.
- Ensure equipment and clinical areas are cleaned and ready for use.
- Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow during insourcing sessions.
- Follow all infection prevention, health and safety, and departmental protocols.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in an NHS setting with substantial Radiology experience.
Please note, this work is available on a self employed basis.
Pay: £225.00 per day
