Currently operating 17 depots throughout the UK, Sapphire supports customers from a variety of industries with the day-to-day running of their commercial vehicles.
We are now seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Workshop Shunter Driver to join our team. This is a key role supporting workshop operations through the safe collection, delivery, and movement of customer vehicles while maintaining high standards of safety and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collection and delivery of customer HGV vehicles to and from the workshop
- Safe movement (shunting) of commercial vehicles around the workshop and yard
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Ensuring all vehicle movements are completed safely and efficiently
- Supporting workshop operations when required
- Maintaining compliance with road safety and company procedures
- Providing a professional and reliable service to customers
- Working closely with workshop staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of vehicle parking and movement areas
- Adhering to all health & safety regulations and company policies
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence – Essential
- CPC qualification is not essential
- Previous HGV driving or workshop shunting experience preferred
- Good understanding of commercial vehicle safety and road regulations
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills

Salary & Benefits:
- £13.50 per hour (DOE)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate as required by the business
