Level 3 Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse) – Potters Bar

We have a new position open for an Early Years Educator to join a dynamic team at a thriving nursery in Potters Bar.
The nursery is open 51 weeks per year Monday to Friday 7.30AM - 6.30PM, closing 1 week between Christmas and New Year
Located on the high street few minutes’ walk from the bus station and 20 minutes’ walk from Potters Bar railway station.
What We Offer:
- £14 to £16 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
- Part Time (3 days a week 12.30-6.30pm).
- 20 working days plus 8 days public bank holidays PLUS up to 5 working days off provided for free paid by the Company
- Birthday Holiday: Paid +1 day
Total paid leave: Up to 34 days if Full Time, 20 working days are pro-rated for part time staff but they equally benefit from the rest of the annual leave perks we provide above.

Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification
- Experience in a nursery setting
- 12 hours paediatric first aid (essential)
- Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (this can be completed as part of Induction)
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection on training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (essential)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to Nursery Manager/Room Leader
- To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery
- To ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety is promoted
- To give support to other team members throughout the nursery
- To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.
- Operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members
- To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life
- To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
- Liaise with and support parents and other family members
- To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent evening, fundraising events etc.
- To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
- Recording accidents in the accident book. Ensure the Duty Manager has initialled the report before parents receives it
- The preparation and completion of activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests
- To ensure that meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
- Washing and changing children as required
- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all time
