We are recruiting for a Project Assistant within our Division of Population Health and Genomics at the School of Medicine. This role is part-time (Mon-Fri, 4 hours per day) based within our Glasgow or Aberdeen team to support the successful delivery of the SHARE programme. This is a fixed-term appointment until 31st March 2027 in the first instance, with a possibility of annual renewal.
This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting initiative funded by the Chief Scientist Office at the Scottish Government and asset of NHS Research Scotland. The aim of SHARE is to build a volunteer register of up to 1 million residents in Scotland (currently over 307,000) who have expressed an interest in being contacted about health research.
You will be employed by the University of Dundee and SHARE but will be based at either NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board (primarily the Clinical Research Facility at the QEUH) or NHS Grampian Health Board. It is envisaged the successful applicant will be able to readily travel to either location as no travel to work expenses will be paid.
- Recruit efficiently to the register and achieve agreed targets.
- Support the Programme Manager in the coordination and administration of SHARE.
- Ensure that all project data is appropriately stored in accordance with University guidelines and legislation.
- Interact with a wide range of people and consent them to the SHARE register.
- Identify outreach opportunities and help coordinate poster/leaflet display/distribution.
- Liaise regularly with other members of the SHARE team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated team player with ability to problem-solve and use own initiative. Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a busy and demanding environment.
- Display a positive and enthusiastic demeanour, personal qualities of flexibility and reliability.
- Exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
