About the Role
As a Paint Shop Manufacturing Team Leader, you will oversee the daily operation of the paint shop while remaining handson throughout the shift. Leading by example, you will manage workflow, support operatives, and carry out highquality paint repairs to ensure production, quality, and delivery targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
You will promote a strong health and safety culture, ensure compliance with all procedures, and actively drive improvements in efficiency through effective data collection and analysis. Using production, quality, and performance data, you will make informed decisions, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires clear communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure to deliver business and production objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Accountable for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, ensuring daily targets and KPIs are achieved while maintaining full compliance with H&S, PPE, and housekeeping standards.

Strong hands-on leader who motivates, communicates effectively, and drives high performance through clear expectations, team engagement, and daily operational control (including shift briefings and resource allocation).

Experience in managing production performance, including downtime analysis, root cause investigation, continuous improvement activity, and driving efficiency and cost reduction (including consumables and stock control).

Quality-focused with a strong eye for detail, ensuring all work meets required standards through adherence to SOPs, equipment checks, and structured problem solving in collaboration with Quality and CI teams.

Hands-on technical experience in a paint shop, automotive, or manufacturing environment, including surface preparation, paint application, finishing processes, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workspace.

Good literacy, numeracy, and data handling skills, with the ability to interpret performance data, complete reports, and record information accurately.
- Computer literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Office and relevant systems to support production, quality, and team management.

Experience in a similar manufacturing, paint shop, autobody repair, or spray environment.
