Machine Minder (Packing)

£13.34 per hour – potential to earn up to £16.50 per hour
4 on 4 off shifts (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
Red Recruitment 24:7 are advertising on behalf of our client for a Machine Minder (Packing) to join a well-established manufacturing operation based in North Scarle.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong experience working with packing machinery, ideally within a food, pet food or FMCG environment. If you understand how to keep machines running efficiently, troubleshoot issues, and take ownership of performance on shift, this is the kind of role where you’ll stand out quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Running and overseeing packing lines, including product feed, bagging and palletising
- Carrying out machine set-ups and adjusting parameters to achieve optimum performance
- Monitoring product quality and ensuring all output meets required standards
- Recording production data and managing stock through internal systems
- Supporting basic maintenance activities alongside engineering teams
- Identifying issues, resolving where possible, and escalating downtime effectively
- Managing waste, rework and maintaining a clean, controlled working environment
- Working collaboratively with Shift Managers, Engineers and QA teams
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Machine Minder or working with packing machinery is essential
- Engineering or maintenance background highly desirable
- Experience within manufacturing, ideally food, pet food or FMCG
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make machine adjustments confidently
- Good understanding of health & safety and food safety standards
- Team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
