We are looking for a new take away Counter Assistant and Waiting person to work 4 days a week from 11.15am to 2.15pm from Tuesdays through to Fridays and 1 evening a week, (Thurs,) from 4.30pm to 8.30pm with the ocassional Friday night and Saturday night to cover other staff. Candidates must be approachable and enthusiastic as you will be serving a variety of people from locals to visitors.
The job involves taking fish and chip take away orders in person and over the phone and inputting them into our touch screen till, and taking payment. Once cooked the order will then need to be collected from the kitchen and passed to the customer, so a fair bit of walking is involved in busy times.
Candidates must have some customer service experience, knowledge of using a till and have a good telephone manner. The job is fast paced and candidates will be put under pressure. As we have 8 tables to eat in at candidates will also be expected to clean down tables after customers have left. At the end of the shift Candidates will be re stocking drinks and cleaning all surfaces, sweeping and mopping the floor in the evenings.
As we are now serving a lunch time menu within the premises, candidates must have some waiting experience. As you will be expected to do table service. During school holidays and evenings you will supported by another member of staff.
