Job Summary
We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Part-Time Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our coaching team.
At our gym, we’re passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities become stronger, healthier and more confident. From children taking their first steps into fitness, to adults looking to improve their strength, and older adults wanting to maintain their independence, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable.
This role involves delivering high-quality group coaching sessions, supporting members with excellent technique and encouragement, and helping create a positive experience every time someone walks through our doors. We’re a supportive community that values kindness, professionalism and making fitness accessible to everyone.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and safe Strength & Conditioning classes for members of varying ages and abilities.
- Coach individuals within a group setting, adapting exercises to suit different experience levels and physical capabilities.
- Build positive relationships with members, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure members exercise safely with excellent movement quality and technique.
- Motivate and encourage members to achieve their personal goals while enjoying their training.
- Prepare and set up equipment for classes and maintain a clean, tidy and safe training environment.
- Work collaboratively with the coaching team to deliver an exceptional member experience.
- Uphold the gym’s values of professionalism, inclusivity and community.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (minimum).
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (preferred).
- Experience coaching Strength & Conditioning sessions or functional fitness classes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, approachable and encouraging coaching style.
- Ability to confidently coach complete beginners through to more experienced members.
- Passion for helping people improve their health, fitness and confidence.
Desirable Qualifications
- British Weightlifting (BWL) Level 1 or Level 2 Coach qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience coaching Olympic lifting techniques.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience working with children and/or older adults.
- Experience delivering small group training sessions.
