Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times during daily operations
- Assisting with general warehouse organisation, including cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for all necessary skills
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safe lifting practices, including heavy lifting when required
- Valid forklift licence is advantageous but not essential; training can be arranged if needed
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or similar software is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
- Physically fit with the ability to load, unload, and carry items over extended periods
