Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join a company based in North Bristol. This role is ideal for an experiences AP professional with a strong background in purchase order matching, invoice processing, expense management, and ERP systems within medium to large organisations.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing end-to-end accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments while operating within a complex business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Perform complex three-way purchase order matching, investigating and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring all payments are processed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review, process, and reconcile employee expense claims.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment queries.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and contribute to system and process enhancements.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role.
- Experience working within a medium to large organisation with complex purchasing and approval structures.
- Demonstrable experience performing complex purchase order matching and invoice processing.
- Strong experience managing staff expenses and expense claim processing.
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Infor LN, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
