Overview
Our client is a growing automation specialist delivering gate automation, access control and perimeter security systems across the UK. With projects spanning prisons, schools, commercial properties and residential developments, the business has built a reputation for high-quality installation and maintenance work.
Following continued growth and new investment from a £70m turnover parent group, they are now looking to recruit 2-3 experienced Gate Automation Engineers to strengthen their engineering team.
This role offers a mix of installation and fault-finding work, strong overtime potential, and the opportunity to join a company positioned for long-term expansion.
The Role
You will work as part of a field engineering team delivering automation installation, service and repair work across a varied client base.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Installation of gate automation systems
- Commissioning automation equipment and access control systems
- Fault diagnosis and repair of automated gates
- Servicing and maintenance of existing installations
- Working with automation brands such as CAME, BFT, SEA and Roger Technology
- Completing job documentation and sign-off paperwork
- Occasional domestic callouts to diagnose gate issues and quote repairs
The role is primarily installation-led but includes servicing and fault-finding work.

- £40,000 - £50,000 basic salary
- Door-to-door travel pay
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half

Candidate Profile
This role would suit engineers from backgrounds such as:

- Perimeter security or access control systems
You are likely to have experience with:

- Commissioning automation equipment
- Major automation brands (CAME, BFT, SEA etc.)
Electrical qualifications are not essential, but strong electrical fault-finding ability is beneficial.
