Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our small kitchen team in our county pub! The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen alongside the Head Chef/ Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food, leadership, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining food safety standards and fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Prepare a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, presentation standards, and customer preferences
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
- Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in line with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning, including weekly special.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing kitchen teams
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills to effectively lead and motivate team members
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or similar roles is highly desirable
