The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 11-16 with a range of needs including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural challenges.
This school takes a highly practical and therapeutic approach to education, using hands-on learning experiences to engage pupils and develop confidence. The site includes outdoor learning facilities and animals, with students regularly participating in practical activities, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both in lessons and during off-site activities, helping them develop emotional regulation, social skills, and positive learning behaviours.
While the school maintains a calm and supportive atmosphere, some behaviour that challenges can occur. Successful candidates will therefore need to be confident, resilient, and capable of maintaining professional boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
