Billion Media · Remote (UK-based) · Freelance / Contract · Day rate equivalent to up to £50,000 per year
About us
We're Billion Media, a digital marketing agency specialising in the legal sector — particularly personal injury and medical negligence. Headquartered in Liverpool with a growing London operation, we're best known for SEO-led campaigns that blend data journalism, investigative research and digital PR to earn our clients coverage in national and regional press.
As we grow, we're expanding into influencer and social-led marketing: connecting brands with the creators whose audiences genuinely trust them, so those brands can be promoted and sold in a way that feels credible rather than forced. We're now looking for a freelance Business Development Manager to help us build that side of the business.
The role
This is a business development role with a social-first focus. You'll be the bridge between our brands and creators: opening doors, understanding what we're trying to achieve, and matching up with influencers who can promote and sell products credibly.
It's part relationship-building, part deal-making, and part knowing the social landscape well enough to spot a great brand-creator fit before anyone else does. If you're someone who can hold a sales conversation and also tell the difference between a creator with real influence and one with inflated numbers, you'll do well here.
The role is fully remote and on a freelance basis, so you're free to work in the way that suits you — we care about results, not hours logged.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying and approaching influencers who can help our brands.
- Building and managing a pipeline of leads, from first contact through to closed deal.
- Understanding our audience and budget, then shaping a creator partnership that fits.
- Sourcing and connecting with relevant influencers across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and beyond) to bring campaigns to life.
- Negotiating and agreeing terms that work for the brand, the creator, and us.
- Nurturing relationships so one project turns into many.
- Keeping an eye on social and influencer trends, and feeding what you learn back into how we pitch and deliver.
What we're looking for
Essentials
- Proven business development, sales, or partnerships experience — ideally in digital marketing, social media, or influencer marketing.
- A genuine understanding of how influencer marketing works, and what makes a brand-creator partnership succeed.
- Confidence opening conversations with new clients and carrying them through to a deal.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, and the self-motivation that freelance, remote work demands.
- Comfort working independently and managing your own pipeline and time.
Nice to have
- An existing network of brand or creator contacts you can tap into.
- Experience working with or inside a marketing agency.
- Familiarity with outreach and CRM tools, and with the major social platforms' ad and creator ecosystems.
The details
- Where: Fully remote, UK-based.
- Basis: Freelance / contract (outside IR35 — you'll invoice us for your time).
- Rate: A day rate or hourly rate equivalent to a salary of up to £50,000 per year, depending on your experience.
- Hours: Flexible — we're focused on outcomes, not clock-watching.
How to apply
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply through Indeed with a short note telling us about a brand-creator partnership you've helped make happen (or one you'd love to), along with your CV or a link to your profile. No long cover letters needed — just give us a sense of who you are and how you work.
