Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Coventry. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those they support, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a caring attitude. Prior experience in nursing, dementia care, or hospice care is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidates. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed instructions.
- Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through behaviour management and specialised care techniques.
- Assist with medical procedures requiring knowledge of medical terminology and basic nursing skills.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in condition to senior staff or case managers.
- Drive clients when required, ensuring safe transportation for appointments or outings.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a care home, home care setting, or assisted living environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support techniques, and hospice care practices is advantageous.
- Experience with medication administration and developing or following care plans is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care procedures will be beneficial.
- Candidates with caregiving backgrounds such as nursing or senior care are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation but not mandatory for all positions.
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
