Bar Staff (Zero Hours Contract)
Job Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and personable Bar Staff to join our team at Edwards Bar. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks, maintaining high cleanliness standards and helping create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
This role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, late nights and event shifts. Previous bar or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately
- Deliver excellent customer service and engage positively with customers
- Take customer orders and make recommendations where appropriate
- Handle cash and card transactions using the till system
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar area throughout service
- Restock fridges, shelves and bar supplies as required
- Follow all licensing laws and promote responsible alcohol service
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Carry out cleaning duties before, during and after shifts
- Complete end-of-night cleaning tasks, including mopping floors, cleaning bar equipment, glassware and customer areas
- Assist with venue setup and reset for events and functions when required
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
- Adhere to all health, safety and food hygiene standards
Requirements
- Previous hospitality or bar experience is desirable but not essential
- Friendly, confident and approachable personality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and late-night shifts
- Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and cash transactions
- Must be 18 years of age or over
