A Trainee Finance Assistant is required to support the charity's Finance Manager
by handling routine bookkeeping and administrative duties. This entry-level, development-focused
role is designed for individuals seeking to build a long-term accounting career, typically
involving a blend of on-the-job training and professional qualifications like AAT
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process and log purchase invoices, match delivery notes, and prepare
payment runs for vendors.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Assist with sales invoicing and monitor credit control by chasing
outstanding payments.
- Reconciliation: Help conduct bank reconciliations, process petty cash, and manage employee
expense claims.
- General Administration: Maintain digital filing systems, respond to finance-related inquiries,
and assist the Operations Director and Finance Manager with month-end duties
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Recent finance/accounting education (degree or AAT) or a junior candidate willing to
study towards accounting qualifications.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
and familiarity with accounting software like Sage or Xero.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong numerical skills, flexibility and excellent
communication.
- Personal Qualities: Able to work well under pressure without constant supervision and able to
meet strict deadlines. Approachable and willing to comply with the values of the Trust.
Pay: £26,463.00 per year
