We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our long-standing family dental practice in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. We are looking for a candidate keen to progress their career who is highly skilled, caring and has a great work ethic to join our friendly team of professionals.
Having been established over 70 years Sandy Lane Dental Practice is a busy and modern practice with 6 surgeries. We are a long-established training practice for both Foundation Dentists and Trainee Nurses as well as encouraging further qualifications for all staff. We have a mixed NHS and private patient base offering a multitude of dental treatments. We are fully computerised, a Denplan provider and a BDA Good Practice member. We have an excellent patient base and reputation in the Northwest as well as being an Urgent Dental Care Practice coordinating services through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pay - dependent upon experience
The Role
· Maintaining all clinical areas to a high level and according to practice health and safety and infection control procedures
· Using all equipment required to perform routine dental treatment
· Provide chairside assistance
· Ensure the care and welfare of patients
· Accurately completing patient records using SOE EXACT
· Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies
· Be familiar with health and safety rules and guidelines including PPE, COSHH, mercury handling, infection control, waste disposal etc.
· Developing and processing digital radiographs
· Manage lab work
· Control stock levels and items within the surgery
· Work in accordance with Data Security and Protection Policies
· Work closely with our Practice Manager, Reception Team, colleagues and Referral partners
· Attend practice meetings, complete required CPD
· Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct
Skills and Experience
· Experience and expertise covering all routine dental treatment
· Professional attitude to work whilst being confident and empathetic with a friendly and caring attitude.
· Ability to work with colleagues of varying experience
· IT skills including SOE EXACT and Microsoft Office
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently as well as efficiently with the dentists
· Having completed additional qualifications and competencies but not essential
