1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Year 2 (Complex Needs)

Start Date: Wednesday 26th August 2026
Contract: Full Time | Long-Term (Until Christmas, with the possibility of extension)
Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: Competitive daily rate – PAYE through Now Education
Now Education is recruiting a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in LE67 from 26th August 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting a Year 2 pupil with complex additional needs who is currently working at EYFS level. The pupil is verbal but can become dysregulated at times and may display behaviours that challenge, so we're looking for someone who is calm, patient, and experienced in supporting children with high levels of need.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with complex SEND
- Support learning at an EYFS level
- Use positive behaviour strategies to help regulate emotions and engagement
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider school team
- Encourage independence, confidence, and progress in a nurturing environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children 1:1 with severe or complex SEND
- Experience with Autism, communication needs, or behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
- Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships
- Passionate about helping children reach their full potential
- A team player with excellent communication skills
