About the Role
We are recruiting for 2 Senior Residential Care Practitioners to join our 2-bedded children’s residential home in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced children’s residential care professionals who are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
You will play a key leadership role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, providing high-quality care, safeguarding, and guidance while working closely with your co-senior and wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the daily operation of the children’s home
- Provide high-quality care and emotional support to young people
- Supervise, guide, and support staff members during shifts
- Promote positive outcomes in line with care plans
- Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards are consistently met
- Support with staff training, team meetings, and development
- Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year’s experience managing or leading a team within children’s residential care
- Strong knowledge and experience within children’s residential services
- Relevant qualifications in Children’s Residential Care (as outlined in candidate requirements)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Passionate, resilient, and committed to delivering exceptional care
Shift Pattern
- 3-week rolling rota
- Average of 10 shifts per month
- Shift pattern: 08:00 – 11:00, plus sleep-in, followed by handover 08:00 – 08:30 next day
- Monthly hours average: 244.5 hours (including shifts, training, and team meetings)
