Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Waiter or Waitress to join our vibrant hospitality team at one of our 6 branches. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest service and have a solid background in restaurant operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where professionalism, efficiency, and a friendly demeanour are highly valued. Previous experience in food service and a good understanding of food safety standards are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and take their orders accurately, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Provide detailed menu information, including specials and wine pairings, to assist guests in making informed choices
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while respecting guest preferences
- Clear tables efficiently and ensure the dining area remains clean and organised throughout service
- Handle guest queries or complaints professionally, resolving issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Assist with basic food preparation or kitchen duties as required, adhering to food safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including side stations and workstations, following health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Waiter or Waitress within a busy restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of hospitality principles and excellent guest service skills
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Basic maths skills for billing and cash handling purposes
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is desirable but not essential
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during peak hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining professionalism
- A friendly, approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as required
- Knowledge of Mediterranean or Thai cuisine beneficial but not necessary
