Here at Silas Cove, we’re seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team at our popular coastal beach bar based in Portwrinkle, Cornwall.
We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Chef to support the Head Chef and help run the kitchen day-to-day working collaboratively to ensure smooth operations, capable of running the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence.
This role requires a strong background in food preparation and production, commitment to food safety and quality, whilst ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met.
The right candidate will be naturally level-headed under pressure, possess the ability to work quickly and work collaboratively with others in a busy environment.

Role & Responsibilities
Help to motivate the kitchen team to ensure high standards of food quality and service are met.
Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in accordance with the beach bar’s menu and standards.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability.
Manage food safety, hygiene, health & safety compliance.
Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean, functional, and safe for use.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide excellent hospitality and address any guest concerns regarding food quality or service.
Work closely with the management team to develop and deliver the menu.
Requirements
Strong teamwork skills and a calm, positive presence in the kitchen.
Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
Proven experience as a chef within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Food hygiene and safety qualifications (or similar qualification), but relevant experience will be considered.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
