Whalebone Golf Club in Romford, Essex comprises an 18 hole golf course, 25 bay Toptracer driving range, 18 hole Adventure Golf facility, 18 hole Footgolf course, American Golf retail store and golf simulator room.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated full time Deputy Head Greenkeeper to join the team in the maintenance and development of our 18 hole course and surrounding grounds / golf facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take ownership of Essex’s most comprehensive golfing destination, ensuring the highest standards of course presentation and playability are consistently achieved.
The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes and qualifications:
- Minimum NVQ Level 2
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates desirable
- Spraying and chainsaw qualifications desirable
- Motivate and lead a team in the absence of the Head Greenkeeper
- Assist in the training of a team of greenkeepers to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
- Lead and supervise the greenkeeping team in the day to day set up of the golf course and other tasks.
- To plan and implement weekly work schedules, ensuring that scheduled work is carried out effectively.
- Have a good understanding of current Health and safety in the workplace.
- Flexible and able to work at weekends on a rota basis
- A strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate they can work as part of a team and as an individual
- Full driving license
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate with members as well as colleagues
- Self-motivated
- Strong time management skills
- Desire to continue to improve own knowledge and skill base.
