Overview
We are seeking a reliable and flexible self employed van driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities. This role involves delivering goods efficiently while maintaining high safety standards and providing exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including luton and medium wheel based refrigerated van, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations
- Deliver goods to multiple locations in a timely and efficient manner
- Load and unload cargo, often requiring warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge for handling equipment
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Assist with organising deliveries and managing schedules to optimise routes
- Ensure the security of cargo during transit and adhere to health and safety protocols at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver
- Strong driving record with a valid driving licence suitable for these vehicle type
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Familiarity with delivery routes within the local area and good organisational skills are beneficial
