At Anglesey Sea Zoo, we’re not just about fish tanks. We’re about sustainability, native marine life, and providing a safe, welcoming environment for our visitors. And we need a dedicated Cleaner to help us do just that.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping public areas (aquarium, café, shop, toilets) clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Cleaning staff rooms and behind-the-scenes workspaces.
- Tidying picnic areas and outdoor visitor zones.
- Using cleaning materials and equipment properly to minimise cross contamination (don’t worry, we supply everything, including the training).
- Reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Doing scheduled deep cleans every couple of months.
You’ll work evenings, outside our public hours, which include weekends and weekdays on a rota basis.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience cleaning in a commercial setting (desirable).
- Able to demonstrate your cleaning skills during a short work trial.
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work independently to high standards.
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport are necessary – we’re in a lovely but remote location.
- Comfortable working fewer hours in the quieter winter months (potentially a minimum of six hours per week in November, December and January.
- Must be available for bank holidays and weekends.
- You’ll need to pass a DBS check, as you’ll be working out of hours with access to security information.
