Synergie Cad UK Ltd designs highly technical Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) used to test semiconductor chips and industrial electronic systems.
Today, we are looking for a PCB Design Engineer to join our team in Lincoln.
The role
You will be responsible for designing multi-layer PCBs using CAD software, producing accurate designs from supplied technical information and preparing them for manufacture.
You will work closely with customers, project stakeholders and internal teams to ensure designs meet technical, quality and manufacturing requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Produce PCB layouts from design packages in accordance with customer and project requirements.
- Update and revise PCB designs following customer feedback and internal review.
- Communicate with customers to resolve technical issues, ambiguities and design queries.
- Collaborate with customers and the Design Manager to resolve design and layout challenges.
- Review customer requirements before commencing design work.
- Create and manage schematic-driven PCB designs.
- Provide technical support to the sales team regarding product applications and customer requirements.
- Perform design verification checks, including DRC (Design Rule Check) and DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacture/Assembly), before release to manufacture.
- Review project information with the Account Manager to ensure sufficient information is available to complete the design package.
- Liaise with internal departments and customers to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
- Attend customer sites when required to support technical discussions.
- Comply with the requirements of the Synergie Cad UK Ltd Quality Management System (BS EN ISO 9001).

Skills and experience
Essential
- HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience using Altium Designer and/or Cadence OrCAD Capture, OrCAD PCB Editor or Allegro PCB Designer.
- Experience designing multi-layer PCBs.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and customer requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams.
Desirable
- Experience within the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing or test solutions industry.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards and PCB design best practices.
