We're looking for a Multi Skilled Retail Assistant to join our Kirkwall team. This is a varied, hands-on role combining stock management, merchandising and customer service. You'll play a key part in ensuring products are available, displays are well presented and customers receive the support they need.

The Role
As Multi Skilled Retail Assistant , you'll support both the retail showroom and stock operation, helping ensure the branch runs smoothly every day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Replenishing stock across the showroom and warehouse areas
- Ensuring shelves, displays and product areas are clean, organised and well presented
- Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries
- Assisting with stock counts and stock accuracy activities
- Identifying low stock levels and reporting replenishment requirements
- Supporting customers at the trade counter and showroom
- Processing sales transactions and customer orders
- Helping customers locate products and offering advice where appropriate
- Loading and unloading stock safely
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and organisation
- Supporting colleagues across the branch during busy periods
- Assisting with seasonal displays, promotions and merchandising activities
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in retail, warehousing, stock control or customer service
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A willingness to undertake manual handling activities
- Basic IT skills and confidence using business systems
- A flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the branch
Previous experience within merchanting, retail, agricultural, trade supplies or warehouse environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
