Ad-Hoc Transport Administrator
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Meir
Hours: 6am to 6pm, Temporary position
Payrate: £13.26 per hour
The role:
We are currently recruiting for an organised and reliable Ad-Hoc Transport Administrator to provide temporary holiday cover support at our Meir site.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment. You will support the smooth running of daily transport operations by coordinating information, maintaining accurate records, and acting as a key point of contact for drivers and internal teams.
Main Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the transport department during holiday cover periods

Assist with the planning and coordination of daily transport schedules

Update and maintain accurate transport records, paperwork, and documentation

Monitor driver schedules and support with resource allocation

Communicate with drivers regarding routes, deliveries, collections, and any changes

Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth transport operations

Respond to queries and resolve issues quickly and professionally

Track vehicle movements and escalate any operational concerns

Ensure transport procedures, company policies, and health & safety standards are followed

Support the wider transport team with general administration duties
About you:

Previous administration experience (transport/logistics experience desirable but not essential)

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Ability to work confidently in a busy, fast-paced environment

Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with drivers and colleagues

Comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office

Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure
