We’re looking to appoint a Project Management Assistant to join our Development Team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role has become available due to career progression within the business. The role will be supporting our South West Wales projects, with agile working in place and a head office base of Swansea. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys organised, meaningful work and wants to support the delivery of new homes and refurbishment schemes that make a difference across Wales, while also developing their career in housing development and project management.
About the role
As a Project Management Assistant, you’ll play an important supporting role in the delivery of our development programme. You’ll work alongside Project Managers to help coordinate projects, manage information, and ensure a smooth customer journey from build through to handover.
A key part of the role will involve supporting the handover process and managing defects, making sure issues are recorded, tracked and resolved within agreed timescales. You’ll also help maintain accurate project data, support reporting, and keep key documentation organised and up to date.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you’ll be involved across the full lifecycle of schemes. From construction through to completion with plenty of opportunity to build your knowledge of housing development.
Skills and Experience needed
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and genuinely focused on delivering a good customer experience. You’ll be comfortable managing a busy workload, keeping accurate records and working across a range of tasks, while staying calm under pressure.
You’ll have experience of working with customers and be confident communicating with different people, adapting your approach depending on the situation. Attention to detail is important, along with the ability to understand requests and respond in a clear and practical way.
You’ll enjoy working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and building positive relationships with internal teams, contractors and partners. You’ll also be confident using IT systems such as Microsoft Office and willing to learn and use new systems to manage project information.
An understanding of housing, development or construction would be helpful, but isn’t essential. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work is required. As one Development Team, there may be occasions where you’re asked to support properties across Central and East Wales.
