The Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Part-time Host based in our Canary Wharf Showroom. As the primary face of the ICar Auto Group and BYD brand, you will play a vital role in creating memorable first impressions and delivering an exceptional, industry-leading customer experience. This role is focused on welcoming, engaging and guiding guests through their journey turning visitors into customers through outstanding service, strong product knowledge and personalised interactions.
Hosts will play a key role in bringing BYD and ICar Auto Group events to life, showcasing products with confidence and enthusiasm while supporting the business in achieving its sales objectives. A critical element of the role is accurate and consistent CRM data capture, ensuring valuable customer insight is recorded to support follow-up, marketing activity and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Brand Representation
- Act as the face of the ICar Auto Group and BYD, delivering a warm, professional and memorable welcome to all visitors.
- Create positive, lasting impressions that reflect an industry-leading customer experience.
- Engage customers confidently and authentically, building rapport and trust from the first interaction.
- Deliver a seamless, consistent experience across all customer touchpoints.
- Turn guests into customers through exceptional service, product knowledge and attention to detail.
Customer Engagement, Sales Support s Journey
- Support customers throughout their journey, from first enquiry and showroom visit through to handover and follow-up.
- Understand customer needs and tailor conversations to support informed purchase decisions.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the achievement of sales targets while maintaining a premium, customer-first approach.
- Play an active role in converting interest into action through outstanding engagement and follow- up.
Events & Brand Activation
- Play a key role in BYD and ICar Auto Group events, product launches and brand activations.
- Bring products to life by confidently presenting features, technology and brand stories to guests.
- Create engaging, memorable experiences at events that drive customer interest and support sales goals.
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring events reflect the highest standards of customer experience and professionalism.
CRM & Customer Data Capture
- Accurately capture customer information at first point of contact and throughout the customer journey.
- Maintain excellent CRM discipline, ensuring all interactions, preferences and follow-up actions are recorded correctly.
- Use CRM systems to support effective follow-up and ongoing customer engagement.
- Recognise the importance of high-quality data in supporting marketing strategy and business performance.
Digital Engagement s Live Streaming
- Support digital engagement initiatives, including live streaming, with a confident and professional on-camera presence where required.
- Develop strong product knowledge to present vehicles effectively across both in-person and digital platforms.
- Deliver the same high standard of experience digitally as in face-to-face interactions.
- Brand, Product s Continuous Improvement
- Maintain strong knowledge of BYD products, technology and brand values.
- Stay up to date with new product launches, features and customer experience standards.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the customer journey and create memorable moments at every interaction.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a customer-facing role within retail, hospitality, automotive or a service-led environment.
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence using CRM systems and digital tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Desirable
- Automotive or premium brand experience.
- Experience supporting events, product launches or brand activations.
- Experience with live streaming or digital customer engagement.

Hours & Schedule:
- Regular Shifts: Sunday and Monday (scheduled according to the team rota)
- Standard Working Hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break).
- Flexibility Required: Availability to provide ad-hoc cover for staff sickness and annual leave as needed.
