HGV Technician – Permanent Late Shift
Pay: £20.00 – £23.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 13:30 – 22:00
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Hourly Rate: £20.00 – £23.00 per hour (depending on experience)
- Basic Salary: £41,600 – £47,840 per year (based on 40-hour week)
- Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x)
- Realistic OTE: £48,000 – £55,000+ per year with regular overtime
Overview
We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician for a permanent late shift role. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who prefers starting later—ideal for avoiding early winter mornings and still having daylight before work. Enjoy a stable Monday–Friday schedule, strong hourly rates up to £23.00 per hour, and plenty of overtime potential in a modern, well-supported workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles to a high standard
- Perform diagnostics and fault-finding using modern equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and in line with workshop procedures
- Maintain accurate job cards and documentation
- Uphold excellent workshop organisation and safety standards
What You'll Need
- Recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician in a commercial workshop
- Strong diagnostic and technical repair skills
- Full UK driving licence
