JOB PURPOSE:
We are currently seeking a fully skilled Electro-Mechanical Bench Fitter to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a varied role involving both workshop-based duties and on-site service work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues, identifying required spare parts, and carrying out repairs on a range of industrial equipment, including motors, gearboxes, and pumps. The role also requires site service experience, including attending customer sites for repairs, servicing, and installations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on industrial motors, gearboxes, and pumps
· Troubleshoot systems and identify necessary replacement parts
· Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
· Use measuring and marking-out equipment correctly
· Dismantle and reassemble a variety of mechanical assemblies for service and repair
· Perform assessments and complete all required documentation
· Assemble, test, and ensure equipment is fully operational before dispatch
· Manufacture items within specified tolerances using hand tools
· Practice the correct use of hand tools at all times
· Assist with the care, development, and training of apprentices
· Carry out site visits, servicing, repairs, and installation work as required
· Participate in a call-out rota and overtime to support a 24/7 breakdown service
· Adhere to Health and Safety procedures at all times
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong mechanical experience (repair industry experience advantageous)
- Proven site service experience working on industrial equipment (essential)
- Competence in using a wide range of hand tools
- Experience working with: Fluid and semi-solid pumps, Gearboxes and Electric motors.
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally on-site
- Valid UK driving licence (essential)
- CSCS card or safety passport (desirable)
