We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Young Persons Support Worker to provide essential support and guidance to young individuals. Duties
- Build trusting relationships with young persons, offering emotional support and guidance.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans tailored to individual needs and aspirations.
- Assist with daily activities, including organising educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Support young people in developing life skills such as communication, independence, and decision-making.
- Provide transportation when necessary, including driving young persons to appointments or activities.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of support provided, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each young person.
- Promote positive behaviour and conflict resolution strategies within the group setting.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people following a trauma informed approach in a supportive or childcare role is essential.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely and confidently.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with young people, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in creating or following care plans.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Compassionate attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and adhere to safeguarding policies.
