Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in various weather conditions. Responsibilities
- Installing new roofs using a variety of materials including tiles, shingles, and metal sheets
- Repairing or replacing damaged roofing components to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing
- Inspecting roofs for damage or deterioration and recommending appropriate repairs
- Assisting with the preparation of roofing sites, including setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
- Working collaboratively with other trades such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical teams when necessary
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area to ensure safety standards are met at all times
- Adhering to health and safety regulations during all phases of roofing work
Skills
- Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or related construction trades
- Knowledge of construction painting, masonry, welding, plumbing, and electrical systems is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in roofing and general construction
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour over extended periods
- Fabrication skills are desirable for custom modifications or repairs
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues on-site
