Personal Care Assistant – SEN School (Ages 16–19, Autism) – Oldham

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a background in personal care? Would you like to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a Personal Care Assistant to join a friendly and supportive SEN school in Oldham, working with students aged 16–19, all of whom have autism and may have additional physical or sensory needs.
About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our students with all aspects of their daily care and wellbeing. This includes:
- Assisting students with personal care, including toileting, washing, and dressing.
- Supporting those with physical disabilities and mobility needs.
- Administering or assisting with medications in line with school policy and training.
- Working closely with teaching and therapy staff to ensure each student can fully access learning and life skills activities.
- Promoting dignity, independence, and confidence in every student you support.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient, and reliable, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Experienced in personal care (e.g., from a care assistant, support worker, or healthcare background).
- Comfortable working with students who have autism and complex needs.
- Able to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people.
