Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Manager to kickstart and optimise our air cargo operations. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of international shipping logistics, supply chain management, and customer relationship management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the growth of this operation with commission paid based on sales and performance.
Salary is based on a mix of base salary + commission depending on sales and performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end air freight operations, including scheduling, booking, and tracking shipments using transportation management systems (TMS) and EDI platforms.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise supply chain efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant standards.
- Lead negotiations with airlines, 3PL providers, and other partners to secure favourable rates and service levels.
- Oversee CRM software utilisation for client relationship management, lead generation, and sales management activities.
- Coordinate with sales teams to identify new business opportunities through B2B sales channels and develop customised logistics solutions.
- Ensure accurate data entry related to shipments, inventory, and regulatory documentation within AS400 and other enterprise systems.
- Monitor industry trends in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain management to maintain competitive advantage.
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering exceptional customer service while managing complex logistics projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including FDA standards for pharmaceutical or food-related cargo.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in air freight management or logistics within a fast-paced environment.
- own contacts within the industry to kickstart the operation and support continued growth.
- Demonstrable expertise in supply chain optimisation, logistics planning, and 3PL coordination.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable agreements with airlines and service providers.
- Experience in B2B sales management, lead generation, and client relationship development.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations pertinent to air cargo operations involving pharmaceuticals or food products.

Pay: £30,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
