As a Community Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping and growing recovery across Middlesbrough. You’ll support people to connect, belong, and thrive, working alongside local partners and the recovery community to create meaningful opportunities for connection, purpose, and long-term change.

Experience of:
- Working within recovery, health, or community settings#
- Developing or supporting community-based initiatives
- Partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
- Supporting or managing teams, volunteers, or peer role
Qualifications
- Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care
- Level 3 (or above) in Leadership/Management
- (Desirable) Recovery Coaching, Community Development, or teaching qualification
What You’ll Be Doing
Building Recovery Communities
- Develop and support recovery-led groups, clubs, and initiatives
- Help communities grow through social enterprises, projects, and peer-led activity
- Increase awareness and engagement with mutual aid and recovery support
Leading and Supporting People
- Provide line management to Recovery Coaches, volunteers, and Ambassadors
- Offer 1:1 coaching and support to individuals in recovery
- Act as a positive role model, embedding values-led leadership
Working in Partnership
- Build strong relationships across Middlesbrough’s health, social care, and
- community networks
- Represent Recovery Connections at meetings, forums, and events
- Collaborate with partners to challenge stigma and promote recovery
Coordinating Activity and Engagement
- Oversee and develop a dynamic community timetable
- Plan and facilitate events, groups, and innovation forums
- Promote activities through social media and community storytelling
Ensuring Quality and Safety
- Complete risk assessments and support safe service delivery
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement
- Ensure safeguarding and organisational procedures are followed
