Job Title: Production Chef
Location: Based between our Production sites in Norwich and Wymondham
Salary: £15.00 per hour (starting rate)
Hours: 37.5 hours (30 minute unpaid break) 8am – 4pm, 5 Days out of 7, includes working weekends as and when required by the business needs.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Chef in our production team, creating high-quality, locally sourced ready meals. You will oversee day-to-day food production, packaging, labelling, and dispatch operations, ensuring products are prepared to the highest standards and delivered efficiently to local farm shops and retailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the kitchen production teams.
- Cook high-quality, meals from scratch for our NHS contracts.
- Oversee portioning, packaging, and labelling of products ready for dispatch.
- Maintain accurate stock control and manage ingredient budgets effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, SALSA, and all relevant food safety regulations.
- Monitor and record all production, temperature, and hygiene checks.
- Liaise with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Support continuous improvement in production processes and team performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Production Chef, Head Chef, or similar role within food manufacturing or catering. This would be ideally in a position where there has been a focus on locally sourced ingredients and dishes of a high quality.
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and SALSA standards.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Creativity in recipe development and product presentation.
- Flexible and hands-on approach.
