Support Worker – Learning Disability & Autism
About the Role
We’re looking for reliable, compassionate Support Workers to join our team supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.
This is a hands-on role where consistency, patience, and emotional resilience matter just as much as experience. You’ll support individuals with daily living, communication, routines, and behaviours of concern—helping them live meaningful, structured lives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting individuals with personal care, daily routines, and independence skills
- Following Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and structured routines
- Supporting communication needs (including non-verbal communication)
- Managing and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern
- Promoting community access, activities, and social inclusion
- Administering medication (once trained)
- Keeping clear, accurate records (daily notes, incidents, MARs)
- Working closely with colleagues, families, and professionals
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism in the UK
- Calm, consistent, and emotionally resilient approach
- Ability to follow structure, routines, and behaviour support plans
- Good communication and basic IT skills
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care and dignity
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care
- Experience with PBS, autism support, or complex needs
