Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide exceptional support and personalised care to clients in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess experience in assisted living, patient care, and senior care, with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals requiring specialised assistance, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and hospice care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. The position involves living on-site with the client, offering flexible and attentive care tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer medication accurately in accordance with prescribed schedules.
- Prepare nutritious meals suited to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Support clients with daily activities such as light housekeeping and laundry.
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Drive clients safely to appointments or outings as required.
- Monitor health status and promptly report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain detailed records of care provided and any changes in condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, patient care, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of nursing home procedures, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and behaviour management.
- Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage medication schedules accurately.
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to live on-site and work flexible hours as required by the client’s needs.
